SURROUND EVENTS

IzodPREPPY FASHION
Friday, November 4th
Following the 8:00pm performance

Fashion statements come and go, but there is one look which will never leave us high and dry: the classic American silhouette. Come join us as we talk with ANN WEISER, former Senior Creative Director for Showtime Networks, and VP/Creative Director at Lifetime television, scholar in Design Criticism, and blogger of The Style of Elements; and GIUSEPPE TIMORE, whose search for a cure to the current epidemic of "Eternal Teen-Ager Syndrome" led him to start a wildly popular blog, An Affordable Wardrobe, as they investigate the phenomenon surrounding “Preppy” fashion.

1971 Womens' MarchWOMEN IN THE 70’S
Saturday, November 5th
Following the 2:00pm performance

The women’s movement in America was mocked in the 1960’s as silly and irrelevant by both politicians and news commentators alike, but in the summer of 1970, the New York City march of the nation-wide Women's Strike for Equality, took that smirk off of America’s face and gave women a political voice. Join director SCOTT ALAN EVANS; KAREN WEISBERG, former Treasurer of NY state for NOW; SARAH HALL STERNGLANZ, PhD., a developmental psychologist and former Undergraduate Director of the Women’s and Gender Studies at Stony Brook University; and scholar NANCEE MOES as they discuss the women’s movement of the seventies and today.

A.R. GurneyMEET PETE
FRIDAY, November 11th
Following the 8:00pm performance

Join TACT Artistic Director, SCOTT ALAN EVANS, and playwright A.R. GURNEY, whom Romulus Linney proclaimed America’s “boldest and most adventurous,” for an in-depth discussion about his career, John Cheever, and the world of Gurney’s play, Children.
